Applications and emulsifier selection

Aqueous wax dispersions are used in coatings, polishes, mould-release formulations and textile or paper treatments. Paraffin wax is the feedstock to be emulsified. Its melting range and oil content, together with the target wax loading, influence emulsifier selection and processing. The wax grade is specified separately from the emulsifier blend.

Sorbitan monostearate (Span 60) and polysorbate 60 (Tween 60) are a nonionic emulsifier pair used in wax-emulsion formulations. Poloxamer 188 (F68), an EO/PO block copolymer, is a co-emulsifier option for comparative formulation trials. These products are not a declared recipe for Emulsifier 58 or direct replacements; ratios, dosage and compatibility require application testing.

Quality documents and testing

A Certificate of Analysis (COA), Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) can be provided for the quoted Paraffin Emulsifier 58 grade. The COA reports agreed batch quality tests, the TDS describes grade properties and use conditions, and the SDS provides hazard and safe-handling information. Active-matter content and non-volatile matter are different measurements; neither is automatically a purity result.
