First aid measures

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing immediately and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. Medical treatment.

Eye contact: Lift the eyelid immediately and rinse thoroughly with plenty of running water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Medical treatment.

Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene to fresh air. Keep your airways open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, perform artificial respiration immediately. Medical treatment.

Food: Rinse your mouth with water and give milk or egg white. Medical treatment.

Fire protection measures

Hazard Characteristics: Flammable. There is a risk of slight explosion in the heat or flames. When burned, toxic gases are released. It is corrosive.

Harmful combustion products: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides.

Fire extinguishing methods: Firefighters must wear gas masks and full-body firefighting suits to extinguish the fire in the upwind direction. Move the container from the fire to an open area as much as possible. Spray water to keep the fire vessel cool until the end of the fire extinguishing. Containers in the fire must be evacuated immediately if they have changed color or produced noise from the safety relief device. Escape liquid is sprayed with water to dilute it into a non-flammable mixture and protect firefighters with mist water.

Fire extinguishing agent: water, mist water, insoluble foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain

  • Q:

Does Tetraethylene Pentamine correspond to the standard TETA grade or the higher molecular weight homolog?

A: Tetraethylene Pentamine is verified under CAS 112-57-2 as the five-nitrogen ethylene amine chain, distinguishing it from Triethylene Tetramine (TETA) or Pentaethylene Hexamine (PEHA) to ensure the higher boiling point and specific amine value required for synthesizing oil additives and epoxy hardeners.
  • Q:

What specific advantage does Tetraethylene Pentamine offer in epoxy curing applications compared to shorter amines?

A: Tetraethylene Pentamine is typically applied as a curing agent when a lower vapor pressure and a longer pot life are required compared to Diethylenetriamine (DETA) or TETA, resulting in cured epoxy systems with improved flexibility and impact resistance.
