Sodium Di(2-ethylhexyl) Sulfosuccinate (DOSS/AOT) OT-75 CAS 577-11-7

Sodium Di(2-ethylhexyl) Sulfosuccinate (DOSS/AOT, OT-75, CAS 577-11-7, EC 209-406-4) is an anionic sulfosuccinate surfactant. The active DOSS component has the molecular formula C20H37NaO7S, while OT-75 identifies a formulated commercial grade whose active matter and carrier system must be confirmed from the current supplier specification. It is evaluated for rapid wetting, penetration, dispersion and emulsification in textile, coating, cleaning and other industrial formulations. Confirm active matter, carrier identity, water, pH, density or viscosity, flash point or transport status, packaging and application compatibility before qualification.

Product Description

Product overview

OT-75 is a commercial solution grade based on sodium di(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate, also called docusate sodium, DOSS or AOT. The active substance has CAS 577-11-7, EC 209-406-4 and molecular formula C₂₀H₃₇NaO₇S. It is an anionic sulfosuccinate surfactant valued for rapid wetting, low dynamic surface tension, penetration, emulsification and dispersion in coatings, textiles, paper, cleaners and other industrial formulations. OT-75 is a formulated grade rather than 99% pure docusate sodium. Confirm the active-matter or total-solids basis and the carrier identity because commercial OT-75 variants do not all use the same carrier system. The exact active content, carrier composition, flash point, transport status and package compatibility must be checked on the supplied COA, TDS and SDS. Ethanol-containing grades can be flammable and can irritate skin and seriously damage eyes. Buyers should therefore specify the intended application, required carrier system and performance tests before approving a sample or bulk order.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain

  • Q:

Is OT-75 the same material as pure Sodium Di(2-ethylhexyl) Sulfosuccinate?

A: Not necessarily. OT-75 is commonly used for a commercial DOSS formulation, whereas pure Sodium Di(2-ethylhexyl) Sulfosuccinate is the identified substance with CAS 577-11-7. Confirm the active-matter basis, carrier system and test methods in the offered grade documentation before comparing products or calculating use level.
  • Q:

Which OT-75 grade details should be agreed before use in a formulated system?

A: Confirm DOSS active matter, carrier identity and content, water, appearance, viscosity and the applicable specification methods. These details can affect compatibility, handling and performance in the final system. A grade name or nominal concentration by itself is not sufficient to establish equivalence.
  • Q:

Can a different DOSS or OT-75 grade be substituted without formulation checks?

A: No. Changes in active matter, carrier or impurity profile can alter wetting, foam, viscosity and system compatibility. The proposed grade should be compared with the agreed specification and evaluated in the intended formulation under its actual processing conditions before adoption.
