A: No. These are different diols with different chain structures and hydroxyl-group positions. The required product should be named by its full chemical identity and matched to the specified resin chemistry, not selected by a shortened diol name. -

Is HDO used as a finished coating or adhesive?
A: No. 1,6-Hexanediol is a reactive diol used during resin or oligomer manufacture. The resulting polyester, polyurethane, UV-curable or epoxy system is then formulated for its intended industrial application. -
