Rubber Antioxidant TMQ (RD) CAS 26780-96-1

Rubber Antioxidant TMQ (RD) CAS 26780-96-1, also known as TMQ, RD or Poly(1,2-dihydro-2,2,4-trimethylquinoline), is a polymeric amine rubber antioxidant for natural and synthetic rubber compounds. 6PPD is a related antiozonant used in many tyre and industrial-rubber compound systems.

Amber to brown granules or flakes are supplied in PE-lined 25 kg kraft paper bags; COA, TDS and SDS are available for the offered grade.

Product Description

Product Introduction

Rubber Antioxidant TMQ (RD) (CAS 26780-96-1), 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline polymer, is supplied as a polymeric amine antidegradant for formulated rubber compounds. We offer TMQ for tire and technical-rubber production where the approved compound specifies this antioxidant for thermal-oxidative ageing resistance.

Applications

  • Tire compounds, including selected tread, carcass and sidewall systems.
  • Natural-rubber and synthetic-rubber compounds for belts, hoses, seals and moulded technical-rubber goods.
  • Rubber masterbatch and compound-manufacturing routes specifying TMQ or RD antioxidant.
  • Industrial rubber formulations requiring a polymeric amine antioxidant rather than a phenolic or phosphite stabiliser.

Grade and Supply Details

We confirm the required initial melting range, loss on drying, ash, granule form and stated test method against the approved compound specification. TMQ is normally offered as amber-to-brown granules in 25 kg bags or palletised bulk packaging. A batch COA, with the applicable TDS and SDS, is available for the offered material.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain

  • Q:

Are TMQ and RD the same rubber antioxidant?

A: TMQ and RD are common names for the polymeric antioxidant identified by CAS 26780-96-1. Confirm the offered physical form, softening range and batch release data because grades may be supplied as granules or flakes.
  • Q:

Is TMQ suitable for light-coloured or non-staining rubber goods?

A: TMQ is an amine antioxidant and can contribute to discoloration in contact or light-coloured products. It is normally evaluated for dark rubber compounds; suitability should be confirmed on the finished formulation and service conditions.
  • Q:

Which TMQ release values should be matched to an existing compound?

A: Match the agreed appearance and softening range first, then confirm heating loss and ash. Where the existing recipe controls oligomer distribution, that requirement should also be stated in the specification and checked against the batch COA.
