Product Description
Industrial selection
For water-treatment applications, select the iron salt and specification for the actual process. Results depend on the water composition and operating conditions; the common product name alone does not establish a dose or treatment guarantee.
Heptahydrate and quality reporting
FeSO₄·7H₂O contains seven waters of crystallization. It is a different product form from ferrous sulfate monohydrate or anhydrous ferrous sulfate. Compare ferrous iron, total iron where relevant, free acidity, insoluble matter and application-sensitive impurities on the agreed basis. Iron content and heptahydrate assay are not interchangeable percentages.
Storage, packing and documents
Discuss suitable moisture-protective packing and storage conditions for the quoted material. Handling history and oxidation can affect ferrous material, so appearance does not replace analysis. We can provide an applicable Certificate of Analysis (COA), Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
Related material selection
For this ferrous sulfate heptahydrate application, compare ferric chloride coagulant, aluminium sulfate coagulant and polyaluminum chloride (PAC) coagulant as different metal-salt coagulant options. Their suitability and dose require process testing; they are not direct substitutes for ferrous sulfate heptahydrate. polyacrylamide (PAM) flocculant serves a separate flocculation role where the treatment process calls for it.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain
-
Q:
Is the heptahydrate identical to ferrous sulfate monohydrate?
A: No. The hydration states differ, which changes the formula mass and the iron fraction. Use the specified hydrate and reporting basis when comparing offers. -
Q:
Is ferrous sulfate the same as ferric chloride?
A: No. Ferrous sulfate contains iron(II) with sulfate; ferric chloride is an iron(III) chloride product. Their treatment and handling requirements differ. -
Q:
What specification helps you quote?
A: Send the application, approximate quantity and target ferrous iron or heptahydrate specification. Add impurity limits, packing and destination if available.
