Product Description

Product Introduction

Antioxidant 1010 (AO-1010) (CAS 6683-19-8) is supplied as a sterically hindered phenolic primary antioxidant for polymer processing and long-term thermal stabilisation. We offer the product for compounders and resin producers specifying AO-1010 in polyolefin, engineering-plastic, elastomer, adhesive or tackifier-resin formulations.

Applications

  • Polyethylene, polypropylene and olefin copolymers requiring a primary phenolic antioxidant.
  • Polyamides, polyesters, polyacetals, PVC, styrenic polymers and selected engineering-plastic compounds.
  • Elastomers, synthetic-rubber, adhesive and tackifier-resin formulations specifying AO-1010.
  • Polymer additive packages in which AO-1010 is combined with an approved secondary stabiliser or light stabiliser.

Grade and Supply Details

We confirm the required assay, colour, volatile content, melting range, physical form and stated test method for the agreed formulation. AO-1010 is normally offered as a white free-flowing powder in the selected packaging. A batch COA, with the applicable TDS and SDS, is available for the offered material.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain

  • Q:

Is Antioxidant 1010 the same as AO-1010?

A: Yes. AO-1010 is a common abbreviation for Antioxidant 1010, CAS 6683-19-8. The offered material should still be confirmed by its specification, appearance and batch release data rather than by the shorthand name alone.
  • Q:

Which test values should be confirmed for an Antioxidant 1010 lot?

A: Confirm the agreed assay together with volatile matter, ash, melting range and, where relevant, light-transmittance values. Acceptance limits should match the polymer formulation and the offered grade.
  • Q:

    Can Antioxidant 1010 replace a phosphite co-stabiliser?

A: Not automatically. Antioxidant 1010 is a primary hindered phenolic antioxidant; phosphite co-stabilisers serve a different role in many melt-processing systems. Compatibility and the required stabilisation package should be confirmed for the specific formulation.
