Para-Dodecylphenol (PDDP) is a para-substituted alkylphenol composed primarily of C12 alkyl chains attached to the phenolic ring, and is commonly referred to as p-dodecylphenol, dodecylphenol, or alkylated phenol within industrial chemistry contexts. Identified by CAS 27193-28-8, it serves as a reactive phenolic intermediate in phenolic resin synthesis, where the para-alkyl substitution influences resin structure, compatibility, and processing behavior in downstream formulations. The material functions through phenolic hydroxyl reactivity rather than as a finished formulation component.
For industrial handling and integration, this product is available with competitive factory pricing, customized specifications, and complete documentation including MSDS, TDS, COA, supporting bulk supply requirements.

Product Description
Dodecylphenol properties: a mixture of a variety of isomers. It was prepared by alkylation reactionof phenol and tetrapolypropylene (isododecaene) catalyzed by cation exchange resin or activated white clay. It is a raw material for the manufacture of antioxidants and additives for lubricating oils. It is also used in organic synthesis.
Long-chain alkylphenols are widely used in detergents, additives in fuel oils, lubricants and polymers, and one of the raw materials for phenolic resins.
Application:Used in epoxy crystal adhesive to improve surface leveling and speed up curing.

FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain
-
Q:
Is Para-Dodecylphenol typically used in phenolic resin synthesis systems?
A: It is commonly applied as a phenolic intermediate in phenolic resin synthesis, where alkyl substitution is used to modify resin characteristics during controlled industrial processing. -
Q:
Is Para‑Dodecylphenol (PDDP) the same as linear 4‑dodecylphenol (CAS 104‑43‑8)?
A: No. PDDP used in industrial contexts refers to a para‑substituted C12 alkylphenol mixture, while CAS 104‑43‑8 describes a single linear isomer; they are not interchangeable.
