Product Description
Erucamide CAS 112-84-5 is cis-13-docosenamide ((Z)-docos-13-enamide), with molecular formula C22H43NO.
Synonyms: Erucamide; cis-13-docosenamide; (Z)-docos-13-enamide.
CAS: 112-84-5.
Molecular formula: C22H43NO.
It is supplied as powder, beads or granules.
It is used as a slip and processing additive in polyolefin film and sheet.
It is evaluated in polyethylene and polypropylene films for reduced surface friction and web handling.
It is also used in polyolefin sheet, moulding and masterbatch systems.
Performance depends on the resin, let-down level, additive package, film construction and ageing.
Grades are selected by form, amide content, colour and melting range.
Erucamide should not be treated as a one-for-one replacement for oleamide.
State physical form, amide content, colour, volatile matter, melting range and the intended resin system.
For purchasing, specify powder, bead or granule form, then compare amide content, colour, volatile matter, melting range and particle handling.
Keep containers closed and follow the current SDS for storage and handling.
Use suitable PPE and exposure controls when handling the material.
Confirm physical form, amide content, colour, volatile matter and melting range on the COA.
Confirm grade, packaging, and specification as required.
The page is an RFQ entry point and does not state stock, price, MOQ, or fixed lead time.
For an RFQ, state the intended application, required grade, quantity, packaging, destination, and document needs.
FAQ - Technical & Supply Chain
-
Q:
Is Erucamide interchangeable with Oleamide in a film formulation?
A: Not automatically. Both are fatty-amide slip additives, but their migration behaviour, processing response and resulting coefficient of friction can differ with resin grade, film thickness, additive package and ageing. Any substitution should be checked at the intended let-down level using the converter’s own test method. -
Q:
What should be included in an Erucamide purchase specification?
A: State the required physical form, amide content, appearance or colour limits, volatile matter, melting range, packing and the release test methods. Also identify the resin and application when relevant, so the grade is evaluated against the actual film or sheet process rather than CAS identity alone.
Ordering & Documentation
Key information for document requests, quotations, and supply planning.
Documents
Tell us which documents your procurement team needs. Before an order, we will check whether the quoted source can provide them for the offered lot.
Quotation
Send the CAS number, grade, quantity, packing preference and destination.
Sample & Supply
Ask whether samples, trial quantities or repeat orders are possible. We will check each request against the sourced product and current offer.
